Tradiciones y Simbología del día de Saint Patrick's day
On 17 March many cities in the English-speaking world dress in green to celebrate the feast of St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. We will see some of the symbols and traditions of this beautiful island homage to Ireland and to all the Irish wherever they live.
El 17 de Marzo muchas ciudades del mundo anglosajón se
visten de verde para celebrar la festividad de San Patricio, patrón
de Irlanda.Veremos algunos de los símbolos y tradiciones de esta preciosa isla
homenaje a Irlanda y a todos los irlandeses donde quiera que
vivan.
Shamrocks
Shamrocks are an important part of the symbology attached to St. Patrick. Legend has it that St. Patrick, to convert Catholic Celtic pagan polytheists, took one of the clovers that abounded in the island and pointing out the three leaves of the plant I explain the mystery of the Holy Trinity: a plant with three leaves that It completes, like the Trinity, one God with three people, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
But the ancient Celtic Druids already considered the clover a sacred plant for its triad of leaves, since for them the 3 was a mystical number. During the 19th century, in the rebellion of the Irish against the English, the clover became a hallmark of Irish pride and acquired a strong political and social significance to the point that "wearing o'the green" became A fact punishable by law. Today both the use of green color and the use of clovers on this holiday not only form the claim of Irish identity but is a form of homage to the Emerald Isle.
Los shamrocks o tréboles son una
parte importante de la simbología unida a San Patricio. Cuenta la
leyenda que San Patricio, para convertir al catolicismo a los
paganos politeístas celtas, cogió uno de los tréboles que abundaban en la isla
y señalando las tres hojas de la planta les explico el misterio de la Santísima
Trinidad: una planta con tres hojas que la completan, igual que
la Trinidad, un solo Dios con tres personas, Padre, Hijo y Espíritu
Santo.
Pero ya los
antiguos druidas celtas consideraban al trébol una planta sagrada por su triada
de hojas, ya que para ellos el 3 era un número místico.
Durante el siglo XIX, en la rebelión de los irlandeses
contra los ingleses, el trébol se convirtió en una seña de identidad del
orgullo irlandés y adquirió un fuerte significado político y social hasta el
punto de que “wearing o’the green” se convirtió en un
hecho castigado por la ley.
Hoy en día
tanto el uso del color verde como el uso de tréboles en esta festividad no sólo
forman de la reivindicación de la identidad irlandesa sino que es una forma de
homenaje a la Isla Esmeralda .

de alto, de carácter reservado, hosco y solitario, que son unos de los símbolos
irlandeses por excelencia.

celebra con espectaculares desfiles y festivales donde el color verde invade
ciudades como Nueva York o Chicago, homenajeando
la sangre irlandesa que corre por las venas de muchos americanos. El primer
desfile se celebró en 1776 en Nueva York, y todavía sigue siendo
hoy el desfile más espectacular de esta celebración.
Curiosamente

mesa a las familias que han acudido por la mañana a la tradicional Misa
de San Patricio y que, después de la comida, se reúnen en torno al
televisor para disfrutar los desfiles de San Patricio a través
de la televisión. El menú consiste en repollo, guisado de carne irlandés,
patatas con chalotas y unos deliciosos bollos llamados scones. Todo se acompaña

Articulo Erasmus+
En este
curso 2016/17, el colegio Menéndez Pidal ha sido uno de los 15 centros de
Castilla y León a los que se les ha aprobado un proyecto Erasmus+ y concedido
una beca a través del SEPIE (Agencia Nacional que se encarga de la
internacionalización de la educación) con fondos de la Unión Europea.
La beca ha
supuesto la movilidad al extranjero para su formación de los profesores
participantes en este proyecto.
El proyecto
presentado dentro de un plan de desarrollo Europeo del centro, consiste en la
mejora de la expresión oral en inglés de los alumnos y los profesores y de la
potenciación de un inglés más funcional de cara a desarrollar las competencias
clave.
Las
movilidades se han llevado a cabo por la maestra Carmen (tutora de 5ºA) y el
actual jefe de estudios y maestro de Música, Miguel.
Carmen ha
realizado un curso en Cork (Irlanda) sobre cultura Irlandesa y desarrollo de
destrezas lingüísticas, y Miguel ha realizado un curso en Eastbourne
(Inglaterra) sobre cultura Británica. Ambos cursos han tenido una duración de
dos semanas y se han realizado en el periodo estival para no interferir en la
marcha ordinaria de las clases.
Son cursos
estructurados de entre 50 y 60 horas para profesores, donde el nivel de inglés
es muy alto (C1) y el progreso es rápido. Se trata de una experiencia muy
enriquecedora, ya no solo por el aprendizaje en escuelas de prestigio, sino
también por el contacto con otros profesores de otros países a los que también
se les ha concedido ese tipo de becas. Es una manera de hacer contactos
internacionales y desarrollar la dimensión europea de nuestro centro.
Se trata de
una inmersión lingüística donde los maestros refrescan sus conocimientos,
mejoran su competencia lingüística en inglés y comparten bagaje experiencias
con colegas de diferentes países.
Todo ello
recae en el aula, ya que en dicho proyecto Erasmus+, a cambio de esa
subvención, el centro se compromete a mejorar las necesidades detectadas a
nivel lingüístico.
Nuestro
objetivo este año es potenciar la expresión oral y la funcionalidad del inglés.
Ya nos hemos
puesto manos a la obra y gracias a la ayuda de nuestra auxiliar de
conversación, Hannah, lo estamos consiguiendo:
*Se trabaja
el role playing con aspectos y situaciones de la vida cotidiana (aeropuertos,
mapas, hoteles, restaurantes…)
*Se ha hecho
una evaluación inicial de dicha destreza en los cursos de 5º y 6º para más
adelante (en Mayo) realizar otra y ver si han mejorado los resultados.
*Se
trabajará en este segundo trimestre el Storytelling (cuentacuentos en inglés)
para que los más mayores, cuenten cuentos en inglés a los más pequeños,
sirviendo dicha actividad como motivación de aprendizaje del idioma para los
más pequeños y como herramienta para desarrollar la seguridad, la autoestima,
el miedo escénico, etc… de los más mayores.
*Se
trabajarán aspectos culturales de Irlanda e Inglaterra adquiridos en dichos
cursos que servirán además para decorar nuestro centro.
Por lo
tanto, dicha beca ha servido para dinamizar más aún si cabe nuestra sección
bilingüe para que esté más viva que nunca.
El 12 de
Enero además, se celebró en el Centro de Formación del Profesorado de
Ponferrada, una jornada de difusión del programa Erasmus+.
Para ello, a
petición de la encargada de Programas Europeos de León y de la asesora
lingüística del Cfie, Miguel y Carmen harán de ponentes contando su
experiencia.
Miguel habló
de los aspectos más relacionado con la burocracia, ya que como coordinador del
proyecto fue el encargado de redactar el plan de desarrollo Europeo del centro,
presentar la solicitud, y del estudio y
firma del convenio de subvención, etc…
Y Carmen se
encargó de contarnos su experiencia en Irlanda: estancia con una familia Irlandesa,
contenido del curso, relación con otros participantes, etc…
Este año
volveremos a presentar un nuevo proyecto para poder optar a otra beca el curso
que viene, ya que creemos firmemente que el inglés como disciplina viva,
requiere una formación continua del profesorado.
